Metallica rocked! They look younger than they did 10 years ago, I guess the healthy living pays off and they played for 2 hours. We had great seats, really close and the Belly Bean went mad, I like to think there was a little fist in the air and some headbanging going on in there but maybe it was a protest at the noise :o)

Didn't get pizza in the end, both Pizza Expresses in Nottingham were full but when I walked by a good Thai place in Hockley it spoke to me so I went there and R made it in time to join me so all was good. Duck red curry and noodles hit the spot

I met up with a friend who was at the gig after for a chat and we went to the rock pub rather than queue to get out the car park for an hour - I was out until past midnight on a school night, more rock and roll than I thought I'd be. I got bed at 1.30 am and got up and 7.30 and feel fine, just as well really as in a few months that should feel like a long sleep :o)

Rock On!

We're off to baptise our unborn child at the alter of Metallica tonight. The scary thing is that I last saw them 16 1/2 years ago, with my first boyfriend!! I still think they're good and their new album is pretty good too (been listening to it all day) so I thought I'd drag R along. The good news is that they are all even older than me, but I will have to resist going up to younger fans and telling them I was buying albums before they were born :o) I saw an intervew with Lars Ulrich when the album came out and he said touring used to be about excess, but now it's a break from the kids and a bit of a rest

R and I were going to use the Pizza Express 2 for 1 voucher tonight as I seem to have a big thing about nice thin crust pizzas but he's just stood me up and is going to meet me at the gig. So... do I go anyway and be a Billy to satisfy my craving (don't think I could manage 2 pizzas though) or go to a pub/cafe.

I think the pizza will win, I've got a BIG appetite today after aquanatal this morning :o) but I don't think I could eat two pizzas, even if one is free

A good day today but baby brain does seem to be quite incompatible with programming brain (or typing brain for that matter).

Saw my midwife yesterday, just quick check and a listen to a lovely heartbeat :o) Declined the spina bifida blood test after our last scare, it doesn't say anything definite and the results would only come back 2 weeks before our scan which would tell us for sure so it seemed a pointless source of potential stress!

Got a fair amount done today though and worked out I should only have just over 4 months to go at work about about 4 weeks holiday left, a nice thought and a panic about what I need to do in that time. They still have to decide whether to get somebody in to cover for me, I'd like to think I'm irreplaceable but still that they won't cope without me or they won't ask me back!

I'm pretty tired but I think that's because I stayed up until 10.30 last night - woo hoo! Going to meditation tonight though so that should be nice and chilled, got 3 mins now to catch up on my friends list...

I'm back to yoga tonight and after not doing a class since October I think it might hurt a bit tomorrow. It's an antenatal class though and half the length of my old one (only an hour) so hopefully I won't creak too much.

Got a stinky headache and don't want to take any paracetamol so I'm a bit grumpy and haven't got much work done this afternoon - hormones eh? Yoga is normally good for headaches though, once I'm stretching the tension in my neck goes.

Do I get to push myself less if I'm doing yoga for two? I'll find out I guess

On the upside we ran a teaching session online today (since it's about eLearning we thought our students should do some too) and it seemed to go really well, lots of contributions to discussions and activity and it was my suggestion - phew!

I'm still alive! The hormonal tiredness went and then I got a stinking cold from R, strangely I didn't catch the extreme grumpiness that seemed to afflict him...

Last weekend we were down in London for a friends wedding and it was a great chance to catch up with friends (photos on Flickr) so I've just been doing all the photos - I always forget how long it takes but I always put it off so I think at some level I know it's a long job. I've even managed to do some of our holiday pictures from August...

Dusted the house too before we drown in the stuff so it's almost respectable now.

Apart from that things are good, clothes are getting tighter so I think I'll have to hit the shops after the bookcrossing meet in Nottingham next Saturday - yay!

Today I started developing some software that I thought would take two weeks and I nearly got it done in 2 hours.

Copying a pasting from other things is great, I wonder if I have enough code to copy and paste everything. The trouble is, since I made that progress I've got b*gger all else done.

Sigh

Happy New Year!

May 2009 be a year of splendidness for one and all

We had a nice quiet new year's eve in the end, we were supposed to go into the city but one friend was ill and I felt really tired so we asked people round to ours and cooked a meal. One of R's mates hadn't drunk for the whole of 2008 and started again at 9pm and he provided the entertainment for the evening as he got less coherent and more and more amusing.

We sat up until 3 and I had a teeny glass of champagne but it made me feel sick so I went back to water - what a lightweight. I wouldn't mind too much but I still feel sick and tired like I have a hangover today :o)

We need to go for a walk now to work off all the food before it gets dark, far too many calories were consumed...

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted - what have I been doing with my time?

I had to pop by though and wish everybody a very, very splendid Christmas and Happy 2009. I'm going to be offline from tomorrow (not that I've been here much anyway!)

Huge hugs to one and all
